Ghislaine Maxwell is a British socialite and the daughter of late media proprietor Robert Maxwell. She became associated with Jeffrey Epstein in the 1990s and moved within international social and political circles. In 2021, Maxwell was convicted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on federal charges including sex trafficking conspiracy and transportation of minors for illegal sexual activity. In 2022, she was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.
